  • Your permission to use CrimeTeller is conditioned upon the following Use Restrictions and Conduct Restrictions: You agree that you will not under any circumstances:
  • post any information that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory, libelous, or racially, sexually, religiously, or otherwise objectionable and offensive;
  • use the service for any unlawful purpose or for the promotion of illegal activities;
  • attempt to, or harass, abuse or harm another person or group;
  • use another user’s account without permission;
  • provide false or inaccurate information when registering an account;
  • interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the Service;
  • make any automated use of the system, or take any action that we deem to impose or to potentially impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our servers or network infrastructure;
  • bypass any robot exclusion headers or other measures we take to restrict access to the Service or use any software, technology, or device to scrape, spider, or crawl the Service or harvest or manipulate data; or
  • publish or link to malicious content intended to damage or disrupt another user’s browser or computer.
  • Posting and Conduct Restrictions
  • When you create your own personalized account, you may be able to provide (“User Content”). You are solely responsible for the User Content that you post, upload, link to or otherwise make available via the Service. You agree that we are only acting as a passive conduit for your online distribution and publication of your User Content. CrimeTeller, however, reserves the right to remove any User Content form the Service at its discretion.

    The following rules pertain to User Content. By transmitting and submitting any User Content while using the Service, you agree as follows:
  • You are solely responsible for your account and the activity that occurs while signed in to or while using your account;
  • You will not post information that is malicious, false or inaccurate;
  • You will not submit content that is copyrighted or subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy, publicity, trade secret, etc., unless you are the owner of such rights or have the appropriate permission from their rightful owner to specifically submit such content; and
  • You hereby affirm we have the right to determine whether any of your User Content submissions are appropriate and comply with these Terms of Use, remove any and/or all of your submissions, and terminate your account with or without prior notice.
  • You understand and agree that any liability, loss or damage that occurs as a result of the use of any User Content that you make available or access through your use of the Service is solely your responsibility. CrimeTeller does not, and cannot, pre-screen or monitor all User Content. However, at our discretion, we, or technology we employ, may monitor and/or record your interactions with the Service.
  • Links to Other Sites and/or Materials
  • As part of the Service, CrimeTeller may provide you with convenient links to third party website(s) (“Third Party Sites”) as well as content or items belonging to or originating from third parties (the Third Party Applications, Software or Content”). These links are provided as a courtesy to Service subscribers. CrimeTeller has no control over Third Party Sites and Third Party Applications, Software of Content or the promotions, materials, information, goods or services available on these Third Party Sites or Third Party Applications, Software or Content. Such Third Party Sites and Third Party Applications, Software or Content are not investigated, monitored or checked for accuracy, appropriateness, or completeness by CrimeTeller, and CrimeTeller is not responsible for any Third Party Sites accessed through CrimeTeller or any Third Party Applications, Software or Content posted on, available through or installed from CrimeTeller, including the content, accuracy, offensiveness, opinions, reliability, privacy practices or other policies of or contained in the Third Party Sites or the Third Party Applications, Software or Content. Inclusion of, linking to or permitting the use or installation of any Third Party Site or any Third Party Applications, Software or Content does not imply approval or endorsement thereof by CrimeTeller. If you decide to leave CrimeTeller and access the Third Party Sites or to use or install any Third Party Applications, Software or Content, you do so at your own risk and you should be aware that our terms and policies no longer govern. You should review the applicable terms and policies, including privacy and data gathering practices, of any site to which you navigate from CrimeTeller or relating to any applications you use or install form CrimeTeller.
  • Accessing the Services
  • In order to access certain features of the Services (for example, uReports, uAds, comments), you will need to set up a username.
    CrimeTeller may also establish and require from time to time additional or different means of identification and authentication for logging in and accessing the Services or for accessing certain features or designated sections of the Services. Your log-in details are your responsibility. You are fully accountable for any use or misuse of your Account and personal details as a result of conveying your details to someone else. You must maintain your log-in details in absolute confidentiality and avoid disclosing them to others. Make sure that you change your password frequently and at least once every six months.
  • Sharing information with others
  • CrimeTeller does not sell, rent or lease your personal information to third parties.
    CrimeTeller will not share your personal information with others, without your consent, except for the following purposes and to the extent necessary in CrimeTeller's good-faith discretion:
  • as necessary for the operation of the Services. For example, making public road incidents you report and which are associated with your username and your location;
  • if CrimeTeller reasonably believes that you have breached the Terms of Use, or abused your rights to use the Services, or performed any act or omission that CrimeTeller reasonably believes to be violating any applicable law, rules, or regulations. CrimeTeller may share your information in these cases, with law enforcement agencies and other competent authorities and with any third party as may be required to handle any result of your wrongdoing;
  • if CrimeTeller is required, or reasonably believes that it is required by law to share or disclose your information;
  • in any case of dispute, or legal proceeding of any kind between you and CrimeTeller, or between you and other users with respect to, or in relation with the Services;
  • in any case where CrimeTeller reasonably believes that sharing information is necessary to prevent imminent physical damage or damage to property;
  • if CrimeTeller organizes the operation of the Services within a different framework, or through another legal structure or entity, or if CrimeTeller is acquired by, or merged into or with another entity, or if CrimeTeller enters bankruptcy, provided however, that those entities agree to be bound by the provisions of this Privacy Policy, with respective changes taken into consideration;
  • for facilitating the Service and to store your data on servers located in the U.S.A and the European Union.
  • to collect, hold and manage your personal information through cloud based or hosting services or a third party or a party affiliated or connected to CrimeTeller, as reasonable for business purposes, which may be located in countries outside of your jurisdiction, including but not limited to the United States of America.
  • CrimeTeller may also share personal information with companies or organizations connected or affiliated with CrimeTeller, such as subsidiaries, sister-companies and parent companies. Personal information may also be shared with CrimeTeller's other partners and service providers to process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with this policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
  • Controlling your personal information
  • If you would like us to delete your Account, your username (if you have set one up) and your personal information, please use the “Sign Out” function we offer available under the Settings menu in the Application and on the Website.
    On receiving such a request, CrimeTeller will use reasonable efforts to delete such information, however please note we may not delete information immediately from our back-up systems.
    If you choose to set up a username, you can view your route history via the “Profile” function on the CrimeTeller website.
    Your location and route history is associated with your Account and (if you have chosen to set one up) your username or (if you have chosen not to set up a username) the unique identifier generated by CrimeTeller.
    This information is held by CrimeTeller associated with your Account and username/ unique identifier for such limited period of time as is necessary in order for CrimeTeller to be able to use the information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. At the end of this period of time, CrimeTeller will then anonymize or delete your location and route information.
    If you find that the information associated with your Account is not accurate, complete or updated, then you must make all necessary changes to correct it. Please keep in mind that false, incorrect, or outdated information may prevent you from setting up a username and impair the ability to provide you with Services.
  • Information Security
  • CrimeTeller considers information security to be a top priority. CrimeTeller implements systems, applications and procedures to secure your personal information, to minimize the risks of theft, damage, loss of information, or unauthorized access or use of information. However, these measures are unable to provide absolute assurance. Therefore, although CrimeTeller takes great efforts to protect your personal information, CrimeTeller cannot guarantee and you cannot reasonably expect that CrimeTeller's databases will be immune from any wrongdoings, malfunctions, unlawful interceptions or access, or other kinds of abuse and misuse.
